Poina to consider when getting a tattoo. The increase in tattooing for Women over 50 is growing all the time and I will be expanding on this in another post but for now…..
Here are some top tips if you are going to get inked
Do make sure you know it will not wear off – it is for life
Do not get a tattoo when you are drunk
Check out your tattoo parlour before you visit – it is safe and clean. Does it have a health certificate. Do they use sterilised needles.
Talk to the tattooist and bring in a few designs before you final decision. They will be able to help you make the right decision
Make sure you have a good idea of the type of tattoo you want – if you are getting something written in a different language make sure you actually know you have the correct spelling.
Where are you having the tattoo – remember yes it is your body and you can do what you wish but maybe your boss at work would not appreciate a vibrant tattoo on show.
Do try to check the tattoo portfolio before you book
Why not try a temporary tattoo before you take the plunge – this would be a fantastic way for you to gauge responses from family, friends and work colleagues. These usually only last a few days and you could test out several designs on different areas of your body
Unless you want to end up on Tattoo Fixers make sure you are 100% sure you want the tattoo
I actually think it’s great that more over 50s are getting tattoos and embracing the “why not” and “life’s too short” mentality that can be so freeing and enjoyable. Do you have any tattoos, or would you consider one?x
not yet but never say never!!!
