Do you want to earn extra money for Christmas
October 8, 2017
Recently I did a post on tips for saving money at Christmas.
I also mentioned a few companies who were looking for Christmas staff.
Below are several more companies who are looking for Christmas staff (and I have also included the ones from my earlier post.
Of course I cannot guarantee these companies are still recruiting but you never know.
Do your research – The main types of extra Christmas jobs are in hospitality and of course retail.
Target the larger stores. The larger stores such as Argos and Marks and Spencer to name just two often recruit additional staff to help over Christmas. The larger the store the more vacancies there are likely to be
Get your application in now – You need to apply asap. Often there are around 25 applications per job. So make sure you apply for as many posts as you can. Remember to be available for interviews which can be at very short notice.

Try to get a job near where you live – A lot of the Christmas jobs could mean an early start – and the transport over Christmas could be a weekend service or even no service if there are maintenance problems they need to resolve at quiet times. Remember retail and hospitality jobs could mean working Boxing Day, New Years Eve or even New Years day
Think of the future – by working over Christmas for a company not only will this look good on your CV but could even lead to a perm role. Do not treat it as a temp job. Be positive and enthusiastic. Act in the same way as if the job was perm. If they are looking for perm staff later int he year the chances are that they will think of you.
Can you commit – While you might apply for a Christmas job do make sure you actually have the time to do it. Your family and friends may be out enjoying themselves and you will be working. Would you be OK with this?
Are you good at dealing with people – This is essential – especially if you are on the returns till during the few days after Christmas.
