With England losing the world cup, Trumps recent visit and Brexit it can be very difficult to keep remaining positive in life.
Below are some tips on how to be positive in any situation.
Keep your sense of humour
When faced with any situations we should always try to find the funny side (unless it is something very serious indeed). By having a joke about something it will make your stress and worries seem less important
Make sure you take time to enjoy life and take care of your well-being. This can be something very simple as taking a long soak in a bath or even meeting up with friends for a drink.
What do you enjoy doing and what are your hobbies as these will have a great impact on your sense of achievement
Improve your self-esteem
No one likes to be faced with negativity all the time. It brings you down. Are you faced with a boss who constantly is negative about your work. How do you feel? I imagine you get annoyed and feel worthless. Now note how you feel when your boss says well done for a project. You feel elated and in a good mood for the rest of the working week.
Always try to say to yourself something positive about any situation.
If you smile automatically it will immediately make you feel better.
If you take a positive and cheerful attitude to life you will see the world change for the better. By smiling you will influence others – Remember people are often drawn to people with a happy outlook on life.
Make sure you start the day with a positive affirmation.
When you wake up how do you feel? If you wake up moody that sets the tone for the rest of the day. So make sure you reverse this and start the day by waking up in a good mood. If you wake up in a panic and think this is going to be a rubbish day you are already starting the day with negative thoughts. So when you wake up tomorrow look in the mirror and say ‘Today will be a good day’ You will be amazed that the difference this makes and your day is already going to start better.
Learn from past lessons
If something went wrong in the past you cannot change it. When you feel negative thoughts about a past issue replace the thoughts with positive actions on the future.
Be grateful for all you have in life.
Think of all the good things you have in life and count your blessings. Below are just a few and I am sure you can add many more to this list
- A home to live in – yes you may have a mortgage but think how lucky you are that you managed to get a mortgage for your home.
- Clean fresh water
- Good food
- Fantastic friends and family
- Excellent NHS for when we get ill
I hope these few tips will make us all realise that we should always be positive in life (when we can).
